Dating a hagstrom guitar women dating thin men
I was wondering if anyone owns one, and could weigh-in with their thoughts?
Best wishes, Jeff PS: Here are a couple of clips (in the first one, the signal is kind of processed).
Fender, Ibanez (without permission), and Sadowsky all followed in ensuing years. Selwyn's guitar looks like either a HJ-500 or a HJ-600.
Fender, Ibanez (without permission), and Sadowsky all followed in ensuing years. They are the same guitar pretty much but the older 70's ones feel more like 50's 175's.
Those guitars take a lot of their design from the 70s "Jimmy" model.
I haven't had a chance to play one of the newer HJ guitars, but they look good and the clips on the web suggest that they sound good.
But I heard a couple of clips recently of the current Jazz line (HJ 800, Hl L 550 etc.) and they sound interesting to me.
I know Bennedetto doesn't seem to think much of that design but I do :-) I would happily own a 70's Jimmy although you could call it a Borys in many ways I guess? Unfortunately all I got to play before I decided to order one were older solid body models, so I purchased mostly sight unseen. I know that the 800 is slightly different than the rest of the jazz models because the neck joint is at the 16th fret instead of the 14th. Hagstrom Guitars and basses originated in Sweden in the late 1950s. Early models include the classic Viking semi acoustic and an 8 string bass.Originally manufacturing accordions, Hagstrom transferred some of those finishing techniques to guitars. The Swede and Super Swede electric solid body guitars were also early models and still exist today.I prefer the slightly deeper tone of the guild X175-500 New Hag's sound generic but seem to be well built ish.I played an 800 and it was a little heavy, and the post inside didn't quite reach the back. I was so "I drank the Kool-Aid" about Hagstrom guitars as a young man that I was not particularly objective when the Jimmy came out.
